Session Five: The Intersection of Concert and Vernacular Traditions.
Composer T. J. Anderson introduces the session, and then tells stories about Dawson, including about his elegant dressing, his sometimes temperamental relationship with Dr. Patterson at Tuskegee, and his drive for musical perfection and belief in the power of rehearsal (which led him once to try to pay musicians out of his own pocket to extend a rehearsal when time ran out).
