The public is invited to view exhibitions highlighting the strengths of MARBL’s collections. The following exhibitions are currently on view:
August 22 - December 14, 2009
Manuscript, Archives and Rare Book Library, 10th Floor, Robert W. Woodruff Library
In the world of rare books, an association copy is a book inscribed by the author or another significant person to a person of note or someone connected to the author. The books on display here demonstrate the range of possibilities, intimate inscriptions between a husband and wife, presentation inscriptions from a teacher to a pupil and formal inscriptions from a leader in one field to the leader in another.
The exhibition was curated by David Faulds, Rare Book Librarian.

Thought to have been the largest poetry library in private hands until its arrival at Emory University in 2003, the Raymond Danowski Poetry Library represents Raymond Danowski's desire to collect every book of poetry published in English in the twentieth century. "Democratic Vistas: Exploring the Raymond Danowski Poetry Library" is the first major exhibition drawing upon this vast collection. Curated by poet Kevin Young, "Democratic Vistas" displayed more than 200 works of poetry, including some of the rarest and most coveted work of the last century.
A full-color, 160-page catalog of the show, with more than 150 color illustrations, is available for purchase. To order, send a check payable to Emory University for $45.00 to
