MARBL will provide reproductions of audiovisual materials that it holds for a fee. Reproductions are provided for use only in research and private study. MARBL provides a range of reproduction options, and researchers are encouraged to consider how they plan to use the reproduction and to choose the option that most closely meets those needs. Only one copy will be made of any portion of a copyrighted work (including unpublished manuscript material). MARBL reserves the right to set limits on the amount of copying it will undertake. Permission to reproduce does not constitute permission to publish. There is a separate procedure for requesting permission to publish, quote, broadcast, perform, or exhibit. MARBL abides by U.S. Copyright Law.
Information about fees is included on the forms and on the fee schedule. Payment is required in advance.
In order to protect the materials from inadvertent damage, all reproduction is performed by the staff of MARBL. Researchers may not use their own equipment in the reading room scan, photograph, videotape, or otherwise reproduce materials held in MARBL. Researchers who wish to arrange to photograph or videotape materials using their own equipment should refer to the policy on Photo or Video Shoots. All requests for reproduction must be approved by a staff member. Requests may be denied if the item is too fragile, if it cannot be duplicated with available equipment, or if the size of the request will place an unreasonable strain on available staff resources.
Researchers are required to complete the following forms to request reproductions. Forms should be returned to MARBL by fax or post.

• Request for Copies of Audio or Video Recordings (PDF)
Reproduction requests will be completed in the order in which they are received and approved. Digital reproduction of still images, audio recordings, and video recordings typically takes 10 working days; depending on the size of the order, the number of orders received during that week, and the condition and format of the originals. Please allow an additional 5 working days if the order will be mailed. Rush orders will be honored if possible at a surcharged rate of double the usual charge. All orders sent to an address outside of the United States will be shipped using Federal Express.
