Letter from James Babb to his mother
This letter is part of a series of 37 letters sent by Babb to his parents during 1862. By March 14, his regiment had arrived at Camp Butler (Newport News). The letterhead is a view of the encampment. Babb added crosses to show "Where our tents are pitched." The letter also includes a schedule of a day's "program" from sunrise to 9 p.m. on page 3.
