The subject of this stamp is a 1948 massacre at Deir Yassin, an Arab village on the outskirts of Jerusalem whose inhabitants were caught between Jewish and Arab forces during the birth pangs of the State of Israel. The Deir Yassin incident is intimately connected to the two main issues that have defined the Arab-Israeli conflict: the armed hostility to Israel by the Arab states and the enduring Palestinian refugee issue.
This propaganda stamp directed against Israel was issued by the UAR (United Arab Republic/Egypt) on April 9, 1965.
